Doris and Family, I have known John all my life. I would watch him play basketball when I was young from our backyard-he always had a kind word and a wonderful smile. Bob and I, over the years, had received professional advice with a warm, friendly manner. He will truly be missed but is now enjoying his reward in Heaven. Doris, keep family and friends close and know you and your family are in my prayers.

Doris; i was shocked to learn of the passing of john. While i have been gone from Williamsville for most of my life, the ties of friendship which my family and i built remain long lasting. The Shearls always had high regard for the O’Neals and the Johnstones. My Mother, who passed in 2007, especially enjoyed working with you and John when she coached your high school play. You and your family are in our prayers during this time of loss.

John and I shared many experiences. Some of them were conventional, such as singing in a barbershop quartet - the Drugstore Four - and some of them not so. All of them were fun.

Doris, Bob, & Wendy. I am saddened by the passing of John and will miss him terribly. He was such a joy to be around and I have may memories of him in town and at the cabin. Regrettably,I don’t think I will be able to make it down for the visitation tomorrow. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Dear Doris and Family,
John was such a super guy! After we divorced and later remarried, John gave us our next car loan and he was so happy for us being back together… a very personable business man… he really cared about the people he did business with. John truly left the world a better place in his life here. May God strengthen you and bring you all peace in the days ahead.
