Arthur H. Jordan,  age 85, of  Chatham, formerly of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at his daughter’s residence.                                 [...]]]></description>

Arthur H. Jordan,  age 85, of  Chatham, formerly of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at his daughter’s residence.                                                                          </p>
<p>He is survived by two daughters, Vicky (husband James) Keith of Effingham and Karen (husband Gregory) Horath of Chatham; four grandchildren, Ian, Hunter, Michael and Wyatt; four sisters, Helen Krivanek, Renata Quillen, Martha Kral, Ruth Pellerino all of Wisconsin; and extended family, Rebecca Hardman of West Virginia, Michael Bryant of Athens, Wilma Bryant of Champaign, Karen Fox of Athens, John Bryant of Athens, and Bruce Bryant of Chatham.</p>
<p>He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herman and Albert; and a nephew, Charles Bryant.</p>
<p>Arthur was born October 23, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI to Herbert and Renata Jordan.         </p>
<p>He married Rebecca Hildebrand on May 1, 1948 in Bremerhaven, Germany, where they both were serving in the military.  Arthur was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca on June 20, 2006. </p>
<p>He retired from Fiat-Allis after 32 years.  Arthur was a Master Gardener, and enjoyed traveling, reading, playing piano, singing in choir, and his family.  </p>
<p>Arthur was a member and past Post Commander for the Athens VFW, a member of the DAV, a Athens school board member, and an editor for the Reporter for Missouri Synod, and was a church a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman.</p>
<p>He enlisted in the U.S. Army on September of 1945 and served until July of 1948.  He attained rank of Sargent during World War II.  Arthur attended a Honor Flight on June of 2011. </p>
<p>Arthur attended Concordia Seminary in Springfield.</p>
<p>Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman, with visitation being held from 9:00 until time of service at 11:00 AM on Monday.</p>
<p>Rev. James Stuenkel and Vicar Doug Peters will be officiating.</p>
<p>Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with military rites being accorded. </p>
<p>Memorials can be made to Memorial Hospital Hospice or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.</p>

Larry Harris, age 70, of Williamsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in Pana, Illinois.                                                                          .<br />
Larry is survived by his children; Terry L. Harris of Bloomington, IL, Kathy J. (Andy) Ritter of Dublin, OH, Stephen L. (Jacquie) Harris of Spaulding, IL, and Michael L. Harris of Bloomington, IL; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren;<br />
sisters, Opal Meredith, Mary Ann (Steve) Orme, Debra (Dave) Heaton, and Judy (Richard) Zillion; sister-in-law, Carol Harris; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews &#038; cousins.	</p>
<p>He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob, and brother-in-law, Mitchell Meredith.</p>
<p>Larry was born April 18, 1941, the son of Haskell and Gertie Lindsey Harris.                                                 </p>
<p>He worked at Stetson China Company in Lincoln for 7 years before working at Caterpillar in Decatur for 33 years as a Power Trucker.   </p>
<p>Larry was a member of the Williamsville Christian Church and UAW.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held at Mott &#038; Henning Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 until 7 PM on Friday.  Funeral services will be held at the Williamsville Christian Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday.</p>
<p>Rev. David Beals officiating.</p>
<p>Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.</p>
<p>Memorials can be made to the Williamsville Christian Church in lieu of flowers.</p>

George Baugher, age 76, of Athens, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.                                                                         </p>
<p>George is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, David Baugher of Athens &#038; Michael (Joseph Lexa) Baugher of Palm Springs, CA; and a daughter Libby of Athens; one grandson, Matteo Lexa; two brothers, Russell (Connie) Baugher, Harold (Peggy)  Baugher, Jr. both of Greenview; and two sisters, Annabelle Wood and Norma (Herman) Cramer.</p>
<p>He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Orville; and a nephew, Danny. </p>
<p>He was born January 24, 1935 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Harold and Ruth Kern Baugher.              </p>
<p>George married Carol Wasilewski on November 10, 1956.</p>
<p>George worked at Baugher Implement in Greenview for over 60 years starting at the age of 17 and later became owner.</p>
<p>He served in the U.S. Army for two years during the same time period with Elvis Presley.</p>
<p>George enjoyed the rural life, sports, and gardening.  He was an avid Chicago Bears, Boston Red Sox, and Celtics fan.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held at Mott &#038; Henning Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2012.  Funeral services will held at the Athens Christian Church at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2012.</p>
<p>Rev. Chance Newingham officiating.</p>
<p>Burial will be held at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.</p>
<p>Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the St. Judes Children’s Hospital.</p>

                            Amy (Terrell) Gorens of Springfield and Sam and Andrea Dennison.</p>
<p>Great-Grandchildren:  Sean Holden, Nick, Hannah &#038; Graham Fougerousse, Clark Swaar, Molly Steffens, Zeik &#038; Serena Dennison Lexia Swope, Chantel Gorens, Jasmine &#038; Billie Jo Brunner, Damien Dennison many neices, nephews, and cousins.</p>
<p>Mr. Dennison was born Sept 3, 1918, in San Jose, IL, the son of Virgil Taylor and Glenna Mae Parsons Dennison.  His first wife, Iva Harris, preceded him in death in 1953.  Their son, Charles Leon Dennison, preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2000.</p>
<p>He married Vera Mae Oliver on July 11, 1954, and she preceded him in death on March 11, 1997.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Earl, Jim, and Bob Dennison, and four sisters, Martha Wheatley, Burl Dennis, Janet Antonnaci and Lydia Dambacher.</p>
<p>Mr. Dennison was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1942 - 1946.  He became a Sgt in Co B of the 772nd Battalion of the Military Police.  All of his service was stateside, and included guarding the Boeing Aircraft factory in Seattle, WA, and transporting prisoners of war to various military bases across the US.</p>
<p>Mr. Dennison managed the West Foods grocery warehouse in Petersburg, IL until its closing, and retired from Eaton-Cutler Hammer in Lincoln, IL in 1983, where he was a proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.  He loved bowling, fishing, playing cards with his friends, and was a die-hard Cubs fan.  Most of all, he loved and enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held at Mott &#038; Henning Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 18, 2012 at Cantrall United Methodist Church in Cantrall, IL at 11:00 AM. </p>

<p>Betty was born July 16, 1931 in Springfield, the daughter of Joseph Patrick and Ann Smith Roth.               </p>
<p>She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents, step-mother Chris Roth, and sisters Joann Dugger &#038; Norma Jean Harris.</p>
<p>Jim &#038; Betty were married on July 22, 1961 in Springfield, IL.<br />
Mrs. Lockart worked for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for over 20 years.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held at Mott &#038; Henning Funeral Home, where friends may call from<br />
4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday, January 15th and where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 16, 2012.</p>

She is survived by one son, Ernest (Brenda) Wright of Sherman; Daughter-in-law Nancy Wright of Sherman; six grandchildren, Barry (Tamara) Wright of Columbus, IN, Dawn (Gordon) Lanning of Lincoln, Tia (Scott) Spencer of Preston, England, Tiena (Ryan) Hill of Williamsville, Christopher (Lori) Wright of Wheaton, IL, and Jason (Beth) Wright of Sherman; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers John A. Haggard of Sherman &#038; O.C. Haggard of Hannibal, MO.<br />
Several nieces, nephews &#038; cousins</p>
<p>She is preceded in death by her husband John S. Wright on August 30, 1999, a son, Rev. Don Wright, and a granddaughter, Juliet E. Wright and a sister Nigle Primm.</p>
<p>Mrs. Wright was born July 2, 1924 in Fancy Prairie, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar Claude &#038; Jane King Haggard.</p>
<p>She married John S. Wright on December 22, 1944 in Grand Island, Nebraska.<br />
Mada was an LPN in the orthopedics department at Memorial Medical Center until her retirement.  She was a “Past Worthy Matron” of Eastern Star at the Riverton Lodge.  Mada had formed “His Alone” for widowed ladies of the Sherman community.<br />
She loved to cook, especially for the holidays, sewing, needle point, gardening &#038; ceramics and loving her grandchildren.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held on Monday January 16, 2012 at the Sherman United Methodist Church in Sherman from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. and where funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 17, 2012 at 9:30 AM.</p>
<p>Pastors Christopher S. Wright, Mike Pennell &#038; Chaplain Barry S. Wright officiating.</p>
<p>Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.</p>

Frankie “Frank” Lee Cooper, age 76, of Athens, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.                                  </p>
<p>Frank is survived by his wife Hazel, one daughter Lynne (Cooper) Woodrum of Chatham, one son Robert T. Cooper of Athens; two beloved granddaughters, Amy Woodrum of Tampa, FL and Alyssa Woodrum of Chatham; three brothers, Terry D. Cooper of Massachusetts, Larry A.(Kim) Cooper of Riverton, Marty E. Cooper of Dawson; two sisters Janet R.(Ernie) Gowin of Dawson and Sue (Rich) Fank of Riverton; one aunt; and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>He is preceded in death by a brother Gail and parents.</p>
<p>Frank was born July 13, 1935 in Auburn, Illinois the son of Fairl and Gladys Harney Cooper.</p>
<p>He married Lydia Hazel Luke on February 28, 1958 in Rochester, Illinois. </p>
<p>Frank retired from Central Illinois Light Co. on January 1, 1996 after 38 years of service.  He was a member of Athens United Methodist Church in Athens and served for the U.S. Army.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held at Mott &#038; Henning Funeral Home, where friends may call from<br />
4:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2012.  Funeral services will be held there at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 13, 2012.</p>

Amy M. Orr age 32, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2012 surrounded by her family &#038; friends.                                                                    .</p>
<p>Amy is survived by her husband John V. Orr IV, a son Jonathan (JJ) Orr both of Middletown her parents Darrel &#038; Pam Stewart of Greenview, a brother Andy Stewart of Springfield, a grandmother Imogene Sudduth of Springfield and several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and countless friends.    	</p>
<p>Amy was born as Amy Michelle Stewart on March 15, 1979 in Springfield, to Darrel Lynn and Pamela Sue (Sudduth) Stewart.  Amy attended school at Sherman/Williamsville until she moved in 1991 to Greenview where she would graduate with honors.  On October 5, 1996, Amy married her true love John Vinson Orr IV and together they have a son Jonathan (JJ) Jeremy Orr.  Amy later graduated from Robert Morris College with a degree in Computer Networking.</p>
<p>Amy soon found a job at Hobbs Corporation in Springfield, IL where she worked for about 13 years.  In 2002, John and Amy purchased their home in Middletown, IL where they reside today.  Amy truly enjoyed square dancing with her husband and son in Lincoln, IL and spending time in her various online groups where she had many friends.                                                    </p>
<p>Visitation will be held at Athens Christian Church, where friends may call from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 and where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM.  Mott &#038; Henning Funeral Home in Athens, is in charge of arrangements.</p>

<p>Burial will be held at Irish Grove Cemetery near Middletown.</p>

<p>Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at Mott &#038; Henning Funeral Home in Athens from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon. </p>
<p>Burial will be held at Joel Hall cemetery.<br />
