<p>Mrs. Baum was born October 4, 1938 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of Glen and Altha Sullivan Liehr.  She was raised in Perry, Illinois and graduated from Perry High School in 1956.  She was a graduate of Western Illinois University in 1960.</p>
<p>She married Kenneth Baum on April 5, 1969, in Springfield.  She is preceded in death by her father, Glen.</p>
<p>Mrs. Baum was employed by the Springfield Clinic for fourteen years.</p>
<p>Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Allen W. Ahrens, 83 of Springfield died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski.  He was born October 17, 1925 in Sangamon County, the son of Carl and Caroline Huegel Ahrens.  He married Lois Johnson Ahrens on October 29, 1944 in Springfield. </p>
<p>Mr. Ahrens worked for Capitol Plumbing and Heating Supply Company prior to retiring from CIPS in 1985 after 33 years of service.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield and a member of St. John’s Group Loyal, served as president of the church council, taught Sunday School, and enjoyed singing in the choir.  He was active in the Elks Club and Junior Achievement.</p>
<p>He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Edward C. Ahrens, sister Margaret (Ahrens) Hartman and grandson Chad Allen Ahrens, son of Terry &#038; Judy Ahrens.</p>
<p>Survived by his wife Lois Johnson Ahrens, son Terry Ahrens (wife Judy),<br />
son Todd Ahrens (wife Margaret), daughter Kerry (Ahrens) Franke and daughter Barb<br />

<p>He was born September 12, 1926, in Springfield, the son of Carmen and Lena Gazza Polistina. He married Doris Jeanette Colliver on November 3, 1944.</p>
<p>Mott served in the Navy during World War II as a Motor Machinist’s Mate Third Class.</p>
<p>He retired from Franklin Life Insurance Company as an Assistant Vice President in the Property Management Department. He was a founding member of the Sherman Athletic Club, the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department and the Sherman Community Bank where he served on the Board of Directors. He assisted in the construction of St. John’s Vianney Church.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Nene, Frank, Jimmy, and Rocco, and his son-in-law Gary Yard.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src='http://www.mottandhenning.com/obit/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/tomlin-audrey.thumbnail.jpg' alt='tomlin-audrey.jpg' /> Audrey Tomlin, of Greenview, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home Monday, November 3, 2008.  Audrey was born in Lincoln, Illinois on July 14, 1926 to Henry and Marie Groth Laun of New Holland.  She attended Gail Country Grade School and graduated from New Holland High School in 1944.  Audrey married John Edward Tomlin of Easton on November 10, 1946 at the Lutheran Church in New Holland, Illinois.  She worked for Dr. John Shute in Lincoln as a dental assistant for approximately eighteen years and was also an important part of the family farm throughout her life. </p>
<p> Audrey was a member of the Greenview United Church, as well as a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Menard County Home Bureau, and the Greenview Fortnightly Club.  She also enjoyed being a member of several bridge and pinochle clubs with her beloved friends.  Audrey was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor.  Her family and friends were her passion and she enjoyed helping others in any way she could.  Her granddaughters were her pride and joy and she loved being an important part of their lives. </p>
<p>Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marie Laun, brother and sister-in-law, Kermit and Joe Laun, step-mother, Dorothy Laun all of New Holland, and son-in-law, Dave Carter, of Sherman.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband John of Greenview , three children , Randy of Springfield, Lora (Carter)Neale (husband Dave) of Sherman, Joy Morales (husband Joe) of Austin, Texas and three granddaughters, Lindsay<br />
(Carter) Bauersachs (husband Derreck) of Round Rock, Texas and Dana Carter and Christa Morales both of Austin, Texas.  She will also be missed by many other extended family members and friends.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held at Greenview United Church on Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 9:00 -11:00 AM followed by a celebration of Audrey’s life in passing at 11:00, conducted by Rev. Julie Blyrhe.  Cremation and funeral services are being provided by Mott &#038; Henning Funeral Home in Athens, IL.</p>

He was a member of Cantrall United Methodist Church since 1944.  Mr. Trainor served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and he was an Ansar Shriner. He was also known as the “Biscuit, Pie &#038; Jelly Man” at his church.<br />
Mr. Trainor retired from Fiat-Allis after 37 years of work.<br />
He loved all kinds of music, cooking and spending time with his family.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 5, 2008 at Cantrall United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM until time of service there at 12:00 noon.</p>

<p>He is survived by:     Wife –  Wanda<br />
                                   Sons -  Ron (Judy) Marth of St. Charles, MO</p>
<p>                                   Daughters-  Janice (Gary) Zelasko of Edwardsville, IL<br />
	                   Kathryn Marth of Black Mountain, NC</p>
<p>                                   Sisters-	Valera Shelly<br />
	Wilma Scaro<br />
	Patricia Kenner<br />
                                  Brother-	Marvin Marth</p>
<p>                                   Grandchildren – Eric &#038; Mark Zelasko<br />
                                                     Alex &#038; Lisa Marth</p>
<p>                                          Several Nieces &#038; Nephews</p>
<p>Mr. Marth was born May 24, 1926 in Kankakee, IL, the son of  M. Carl &#038; Elsie R. (Lehnus) Marth.</p>
<p>He is preceded in death by his parents.</p>
<p>He was a member of the Sherman United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of the Toastmasters, Boy Scouts of America and the LCI Navy Veterans Group.</p>
<p>He maintained all the computers of the Sherman Methodist Church including Kids Place. He was an avid genealogist.</p>
<p>Mr. Marth was a member of the US Navy and served during WWII in the South Pacific.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2008 at the Sherman United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with the services following at 12:00 PM.<br />

<p>Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield at 2:00 PM.</p>
<p>Memorials contributions can be made to Sherman United Methodist Church Computer fund or Charity of Choice.</p>
