Raymond Seiz, age 83, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2010 at Menard Convalescent Center in Petersburg.

Daughter – Marilyn of Rochester
Two Sisters – Loretta Moon of Virginia, IL
Mary Woodrum of Springfield
Brother – Albert Seiz of Kingville, MO
Three Grandchildren

Raymond was born June 23, 1926 in Springfield, IL the son of Raymond and Francis Streb Seiz.

He graduated from Springfield High School and later married Thelma on August 13, 1971.

Raymond loved to work. He worked for the City of Springfield Fire Department, retiring as a Captain after 22 years of service. He also worked for Meijers for eight years, and operated Fresha Vegetable Farm raising vegetables and strawberries for many years.

Raymond is a lifetime member of the Springfield Association of Retired Firefighters and a fifty-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Sherman United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 26, 2010 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home from 9:00AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM.

Rev. Mike Pennell will officiate.
Memorials : Sherman United Methodist Church.

Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery
