B. Eilleen Cowan

Eilleen Cowan, age 79, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Regency Care in Springfield.

She was born on March 21, 1942 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd and Mildred (Devocelle) Hinch.

Eilleen married Harry Cowan on June 3, 1978. He preceded her in death.

Mourning her passing are her sister, Marilyn Johnson; niece, Kim Johnson; and several cousins.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Ed Hinch.

Eilleen graduated from Greenview High School in 1960.

She was an active member of the Riverton Christian Church.

Eilleen loved sewing and doing crafts throughout her life.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

Mott & Henning Funeral Home is assisting the family.

We were neighbors on Sherman and I’m sorry to hear of her passing. She made the best pecan and peanut brittle ever. She was a wonderful lady.

Eilleen and I had many good times together. She loved doing her crafts. Whatever it was we were doing it was always full of fun and laughter.
