Barbara Downey Bradley

Barbara Lee Downey Bradley, of Petersburg, IL was born December 5, 1937 in Greenview, IL.

She went home to the Lord on Monday, September 28, 2026. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Mourning her passing are her children, Earlynn “Lynn” D. Bradley, Kristine “Kris” R. (husband Kent) Busch, William “Pat” Bradley, and Kimberly “Kim” (husband Vic) Aure; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; previous husband, Earl (wife JoElla) Bradley; sister-in-law, Betty Downey & family; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mable (Beard) Downey; brothers, John William Downey and David Michael Downey; son, Richard Michael Bradley; and grandsons, William “Brad” Bradley and Richard Michael V. Aure.

She attended Sacred Heart High School and later graduated from Greenview High School. She then attended Lincoln Land Community College Nursing School in Springfield.

Barbara retired from the Illinois Secretary of State.

She loved to spend her days gardening, camping, baking, antiquing, decorating, and spending time with the most important thing in life - her family.

Cremation rites will be accorded. No services will be held per Barbara’s wishes.
