Beverly Cooper, 79, of Springfield, passed away on March 22, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born January 19, 1938 in Petersburg, IL, the daughter of William Whitehurst and Gladys (Messinger) Nance.
Beverly married Harry L. Cooper on August 1, 1957 in Clarksville, TN. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2001. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, and one grandchild.
Beverly is survived by a daughter, Arlett Hall of Springfield; two sons, David of Springfield and Brad (wife Kim) of Springfield; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Pete Nance of Greenview; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Southside Christian Church since 1998.
Beverly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a “grandma” to everybody.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 10:00 until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.
Burial will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery near Sweetwater.
Memorials can be made to the “Beverly Cooper Memorial Fund” c/o of Heartland Credit Union in Springfield.

Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers. Beverly was such an amazing woman and I feel blessed to have known her.

I only met Beverly a few times, she was such a sweet person and loved her family. Knowing people like this lady made life a little brighter.
