Beverly Hall

Beverly Hall, age 82, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield, Illinois.
She was born January 23, 1940 in Eldorado, Illinois the daughter of Jessie and Maggie Loss Hall.
Mourning her passing are her nieces and nephews, Nancy (Don) Stauffer; Bruce (Diane) Hall; Patty (Tom) Baker; and brother, Melvin Hall.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and three brothers.
Beverly graduated from Lincoln Christian College with a Master’s Degree.
She worked for and retired from the State of Illinois Public Aid.
Beverly was a member of TOPS and Athens Christian Church where she taught Sunday School classes and was involved with youth groups and tutoring.
She loved gardening, flowers, bird watching, and especially family.
Visitation for Beverly will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at the Athens Christian Church. Burial will be held at Brittin Cemetery near Cantrall immediately following the services.
Memorial contributions can be made to Athens Christian Church.

Beverly was a dear friend for many years. I always appreciated her spunk, her sense of humor, and her taste for adventure. All of these characteristics made her a great fit to become a tutor with the Set-Free Reading tutoring center which I directed. Bev quickly became my “right hand woman.” I couldn’t have done it without her. She blessed a large number of students with her well developed skills and compassion for the struggling reader. I count it a huge blessing to have known Bev as my friend and colleague.

We enjoyed getting to know Bev while attending ACC worship services and Sunday School. We soon learned that Bev had lived an active life helping others and serving the Lord. Bev was a funny, kind and caring lady. We want the family to know that we hold them in our thoughts and prayers.
