Bonnie Sue Mattingly, 79, of Athens, died on Tuesday, at her home in Athens. She was born August 4, 1942 in Springfield, Illinois, to William Stanley and Mary Eleanor (Wiseman) Mattingly.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Dwayne (Shelly) Adams of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her daughter, Stephanie Renee (Dave) Wozniak of Bellevue, Nebraska; five grandchildren: Tiffany (Michael) Rivera, Danielle Adams, Bobby (Kayla) Spencer, Cody Spencer, and Nicole Anderson; and several great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by three sisters, Judy Brown of Pawnee, Gloria Ferguson and Priscilla Hauk of Springfield; and two brothers, David Mattingly of Florida and William Ferguson of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters Mona, Barbara and Juanita Mattingly; and one brother, Donald Mattingly.
Bonnie enjoyed working as a hairdresser and owned her own hair salon in Cheyenne, Wyoming for several years. She loved dancing and roller skating, playing cards, especially pinochle, with family and friends, and, later in years, enjoyed going to bingo with her sister Priscilla.
Her remains will be buried at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens, Ill., arrangements by Mott & Henning Funeral Home.
