Edward Burkhead, age 82, of Springfield, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield.

He married Viola Hannibal on December 8, 1967.

Edward was a school bus driver for Johannes Bus Company in Rock Island for nearly 20 years. He was an avid White Sox fan.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 PM on Thursday at Mott & Henning Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 2:00 PM.
