Jill Cain, 56, of Athens, IL passed away Monday, April 19th, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

She is survived by her loving husband Lester, her daughter Tiffany, 3 grandchildren, her mother & father, 2 brothers, 2 sisters & several nieces & nephews.

Mrs. Cain was born in Albuquerque, NM on March 23, 1954 the second child of Miltin & Helen Keene.

After graduation from Springfield High School Jill went on to achieve her nursing degree from the St. John’s nursing program. She then worked as an LPN for St. Mary’s hospital in Decatur, IL.

She later married Lester Cain on July 23, 1978 in Las Vegas, NV. They then moved to
Phoenix, AZ where she was employed by the city of Peoria to teach handicapped children in arts and crafts.

Jill was an active member of the Basement Art Group (BAG) ladies. She was an arts & crafts teacher for Springfield Ceramics Club & the Presbyterian home.

She was a wonderful person that touched the lives of, and brought love & laughter to many. She will be missed forever.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 22nd from 5-7:00 pm at the Mott & Henning funeral home on Main St in Athens. Service will be Friday April 23rd at 10:00am at Immanuel Lutheran Church 306 W Washington in Athens.

Memorial donations to the American Heart Association will be taken at the Mott & Henning Funeral Home.

Condolences

  1. We were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden loss of Aunt Jill. You all will be in our hearts and we will pray that everyone can stay strong.

    I will always remember her as being a creative, artsy, full of life shining woman. Any memory I have of Aunt Jill is one of her going 100 mph with a smile on her face making others smile as well.

    We love you all and she will always live in our hearts and thoughts….

  4. I am deeply sorry to learn of Jill’s passing. I knew her as a member of the Springfield High School Class of 1972. She was always a happy, cheerful, friendly, loving, and giving person.
