Louis Caldwell, age 87, of Athens, died Monday April 16, 2007 at his residence.

Survived by: Two Sons – David (wife Linda) Caldwell of Middletown, Illinois – Jim Caldwell of Athens, Illinois Two Daughters – Dortha (husband Jim) Seeley of Middletown, Illinois

Joanne (husband Larry) Crowley of Chatham, Illinois Brother – Harold (wife Evelyn) Caldwell of Athens Eleven Grandchildren Eight Great-grandchildren

Mr. Caldwell was born June 9, 1919 in Rock Creek, Illinois, the son of Fred and Louisa Ferricks Caldwell. He married Carol McCue on Sept. 26, 1947, she preceded him in death on April 1, 2006. He is also preceded in death by one son, Robbie Caldwell.

Mr. Caldwell farmed in the Fancy Prairie area for 20 years. He served for the U.S. Army in W.W. II in the European Theater.

He was a lifetime member of the Athens American Legion Post #5302 and served as Post Commander for several years. Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home where friends may call from 5 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday and where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday.
