Dorothy Campbell, age 88, of Greenview, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce (Judy) Campbell of Greenview, Mark (Teresa) Campbell of Mason City; grandchildren, Anna, Emma, Laurie, Ellen, Karenda and Mark; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Chloe, Payton, Ryan, Logan, Joe, and Remington; brother, Robert (Norma) Edwards of Springfield.

Dorothy was born on December 2, 1925, in French Camp, Mississippi, the daughter of Houston and Emma Edwards

She is preceded in death by her husband Leroy in 2009 and two great-grandchildren, Gage Robert and Mark Jr.; two brothers, Jerry and Hubert Edwards.

Dorothy married Leroy Campbell in Topeka, Kansas on March 6, 1945.

She graduated from French Camp Academy in French Camp, Mississippi.

Dorothy was a member of the Sandy Ridge Trail Riders. She loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens

Rev. Blake Canterbury will be officiating.

Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.

Family is being served by Mott & Henning Funeral Home, in Athens, IL.

    I am so very sorry for your loss. I’ll always remember her as a beautiful southern lady with a contagious laugh and a warm smile. She was a wonderful woman. Please know you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
