Carl Lee Williams, age 74, of Greenview, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born January 20, 1948 in Springfield, IL, the son of Karl and Shirley (Bannister) Williams.
Mourning his passing are his wife, Lana; children, Rik (wife Alyssa) Williams, Scott Becker, Amy (husband Aaron) Janssen, and Clay Becker; and sister, Barbara McDaniel. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, among other family and friends.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Shirley Williams and brother, John Williams.
Carl graduated from Greenview High School and attended a two year technical college in Indianapolis, IN. He worked as an engineer for Barber Coleman and Invensys before retiring.
He enjoyed working with his hands on many projects such as tractor, wagon and gun restorations, woodworking, gardening, etc. He was a handy man; there was nothing he could not fix. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation for Carl will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Burial will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Sweetwater immediately after the services.

Dear Lana and Family!
My sincere condolences to you and your family. I am so sorry I couldn’t attend Carl Lee’s services. He was one of my very favorite cousins and he will be missed by so many, but he is okay now. His smile always made one feel loved and his devotion to all he loved. Carl Lee, Johnny Wayne and I made some of the most awesome mud pies, ever! I have so many great childhood and adult memories of Carl Lee. I’ll hold them dear to my heart. God Bless you and give you comfort.

My sincerest condolences to my Williams side of the family on the passing of Carl Lee. He was my cousin and a good guy and family man. I have fond memories of our families getting together at my parent’s house in Greenview. He is now with his cousin, Cheryl Gillespie, who passed away in Mason City Thanksgiving day.May they both rest in peace.
