Carl Lee Williams

Carl Lee Williams, age 74, of Greenview, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born January 20, 1948 in Springfield, IL, the son of Karl and Shirley (Bannister) Williams.

Mourning his passing are his wife, Lana; children, Rik (wife Alyssa) Williams, Scott Becker, Amy (husband Aaron) Janssen, and Clay Becker; and sister, Barbara McDaniel. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, among other family and friends.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Shirley Williams and brother, John Williams.

Carl graduated from Greenview High School and attended a two year technical college in Indianapolis, IN.  He worked as an engineer for Barber Coleman and Invensys before retiring.

He enjoyed working with his hands on many projects such as tractor, wagon and gun restorations, woodworking, gardening, etc. He was a handy man; there was nothing he could not fix.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation for Carl will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.  Burial will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Sweetwater immediately after the services.
