Carter, Edward

Edward E. Carter, age 55, of Cantrall, passed away on Thursday August 8, 2013 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; one son Dale Carter; two grandsons Cody and Casey Carter; mother, Norma Carter of Athens, three brothers, James (Barb) Carter & Bruce Carter of Athens, Larry (Barb) Carter of Williamsville; sister Mary Tobias of Athens.

He is preceded in death by his father James T. Carter.

Ed was born November 29, 1957 in Springfield, the son of James and Norma Benner Carter.

He graduated from Athens High School. Ed married Elizabeth Sandoval on July 27, 1974 in Athens, IL.

Ed was employed as a pipeline mechanic and a member of the Operators Union Local 965.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 10 AM until 12 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home, with a luncheon at Poe’s Catering on the Hill in Andrew immediately following.
