Homer E. “Possum” Clemens, age 72 of Greenview-Sweetwater, died Monday May 7, 2007 at 4:25 A.M. at his home due to a long fight with cancer.

Mr. Clemens was born April 13, 1935 in Sweetwater, Illinois, the son of Homer and Bertha Wright Clemens.

Homer married Barbara Vogt of Petersburg on June 29, 1972 at St. Peters Church in Petersburg, IL. They had one daughter Eugenia Louise Clemens. Mr. Clemens worked at Fiat Allis Factory as a laborer for 27 years until Fiat Allis closed. He also worked part time as a Security Officer. He was a member of Post 179 Greenview Amvets and Sweetwater Christian Church. He also leaves behind the best “four legged” friend Lexi.

Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and where the funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M.
