Dale R. Horn

Dale R. Horn, age 56, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Arcadia Care Home in Auburn, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

He was born on December 27, 1969 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Norman and Yvonne (Huffman) Horn.

Dale graduated from Greenview High School in 1989.

He was active in Special Olympics. He worked at Strike and Spare West Bowling Alley in Springfield for over 15 years. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed fishing with his good friend, Jeff VanEman.

Dale is survived by his parents, Norman and Yvonne Horn of Greenview; his brother, Dan and sister-in-law, Bobbie Horn of Springfield, IL; nieces, Samantha (David) McCann of Alton and Mary Horn of Springfield; and a great nephew, Micah McCann; three great nieces, Melody, Jona, and Molly McCann of Alton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family wants to give special thanks to Elara Caring Hospice and the Arcadia Care staff, nurses, and all his friends at Arcadia.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Visitation for Dale will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 9:00 until time of memorial services at 11:00 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Rev. Shane Hoerbert will be officiating.
