David Caldwell, age 66, of Athens, passed away on April 7, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by his family.
Dave is survived by his wife, Linda; three daughters, Angie (Howard) Hurt, Katie Caldwell and Amanda (Matt) Grieme; one son, Tim (Emma) Caldwell; seven grandchildren, Kaleigh Caldwell, Dani Caldwell, Lucas Hurt, Ezekiel Grieme, Vetah Grieme, Claire Caldwell and Alice Caldwell; one great-granddaughter, Karsyn Neisler; two sisters, Dortha (Jim) Seeley and Joanne (Larry) Crowley; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Jim Caldwell and Robbie Caldwell.
Dave was born on November 13, 1950 in Springfield, IL the son of Louis and Carol (McCue) Caldwell.
Dave served in the Army. He also retired from Eaton Corporation after 45 years. Dave really loved spending time with his family, vegetable gardening and loved reading.
Visitation for Dave will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Athens Christian Church. Graveside services with burial of cremated remains will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11 AM at Joel Hall Cemetery.
Rev. Ken Gennicks will be officiating.
