Debra "Debbie" Lott

Debra “Debbie” Lott age 69, of Athens, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born on January 7, 1956 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of George and Loretta (Kern) Bock.

Debbie and Bob were married on October 18, 1975 and shared 49 years of marriage together.

Mourning her passing are husband, Bob; children Nick Lott, Brian Lott, Lindsay (Jeff) Suelmann; grandchildren Charlie, Trey, Brice, and Ellie; sister, Nancy (Roy) Smith; brother, Roger (Barb) Bock; mother-in-law, Connie Reed; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Debbie graduated from Athens High School in 1974. She returned later to work there for 36 years, beginning as the school secretary and then as the bookkeeper.

Debbie was part of a close-knit bunco group that met every month for many years, and she treasured the friendships they shared. She enjoyed watching and attending St. Louis Cardinals and Illini basketball games. She also loved to travel and never missed a chance to be there for her grandkids and share in their special moments.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Athens Christian Church from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Pastor Ken Gennicks will be officiating. Burial will follow at Joel Hall Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Athens Community Park from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Athens BLS or Menard County EMS.
