Delores Showalter

Delores Showalter gained her wings on February 26th, 2026.

She was born July 8th, 1944 the daughter of Frank and Dortha (Greer) Showalter.

Dee lived most her life in Fancy Prairie, IL before moving to Sherman.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Gail (David) Copi of Springfield, Sharon (Steve) Mitts of Sherman and Diane (Bill) Hipshire of Shelby, Ohio; 3 nieces, 6 nephews, 11 great nieces, 1 great great nephew and two great great nieces.

Dee worked for the State of Illinois for 35 years. After retiring she served as Chief Human Resource Officer at Hope School for 15 years. She loved playing cards, cross stitching, sewing and most of all she loved her family.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A celebration of life for Delores will be held on Sunday, March 29th, 2026 at Lincoln Greens Golf Course in Springfield, IL from 12 PM – 3 PM. The family welcomes friends to share stories at 1 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made to “Wooden it Be Lovely” in Springfield, IL.
