Maurine Denton, age 93, of Athens, died Monday, March 19, 2007 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.

Mrs. Denton was born January 18, 1914 in Athens, Illinois, the daughter of Marion and Mary Yoakum Ferguson.

She married Charles Bryant, Jr. in 1931, he preceded her in death in 1939; she later married Orville Denton in 1945 and he died in 1996.

Mrs. Denton was employed at the Illiopolis Munitions Plant during WW II and later at the Athens School District as a cook for 10 years.

She was a member of a member Athens Baptist Church

Graveside services: Thursday at 10:00 at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
