Dirks, Dorothy

Dorothy J. Dirks age 89 of Athens passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Sunny Acres Nursing home in Petersburg.

She is survived by one son Allison (Sherrie) Dirks of Athens and one grandson Bradley Dirks of Athens.

Dorothy was born August 20, 1922, in Middletown, IL. the daughter of Shelby and Edna Anderson Allison. She married Eddie Dirks on June 12, 1961.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Eddie on December 3, 2005.

Dorothy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church in Athens, and member of the Menard County Historical Society.

Visitation will be held from on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, IL. Funeral service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Athens at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 15, 2011.

Rev. Richard Becker will be officiating.

Burial will be held at Indian Point Cemetery.
