John E. Dirks, 99, of Greenview, passed away on November 26, 2008 in Springfield.

He is survived by: Daughter: Nancy Stier of Petersburg Grandchild: Leigh Ann (Rod) Harrison

Step Son: Herman (Norma) Cramer of Greenview

Grandchildren: Salle (Phil) Calhoun

Phillip (Cindy) Cramer Great Grandchildren: Lauren Harrison & Meghan Moore

John was born on October 31, 1909 in Cantrall, IL the son of John D. and Etta Goosman Dirks.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dick and Herman, and sisters Ollie and Anna.

John was a member of the Greenview United Church.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2008 at the funeral home.
