Donald E. Hindes

Donald E. Hindes, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Sunrise Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Virden, Illinois.

He was born on September 7, 1935, in Hempstead, New York, the son of Earle and Dorothy (Stout) Hindes

Donald was married to Marilyn Joyce Vandagrift and she preceded him in death on January 3, 2000.

Mourning his passing are his brother, Richard Hindes of Georgia.

Don is also preceded in death by his parents.

He worked for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue as an Analyst for 37 years.

Don was a member of the Ansar Shrine and Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed traveling and listening to music throughout his life.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains will be held at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens, Illinois

Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
