Donna was an oral surgeon assistant for over 30 years for Dr. Millhon, Dr. Durkin, Dr. Clark, Dr. Colantino, and Springfield Dental Care.  She also worked at Memorial Hospital, SIU School of Medicine, The Physician’s Group, and for Maxim Health Care’s flu shot clinics.  Donna’s horticultural interests led her to work at GreenView Nursery and Landscaping, Kraus Landscaping, and Jeff’s Landscaping & Maintenance.

Donna was a member of the Athens Christian Church for many years.

Donna loved warm weather and the sun, working, landscaping, especially mowing her lawn.  She loved her German Shepherds and cats, and the Florida beach.  Her love of music led her to be in her high school choir and become the band’s bass drummer, then later was a member of her church’s singing groups and choir. She was a farmer’s daughter and thus on a tractor or milking cows at an early age.  Her farm raised life led to a great work ethic and she enjoyed being a “farmer” later in life.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Athens Christian Church, P.O. Box 260, Athens, IL 62613 or the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Road, Springfield, IL 62702.

Condolences

  1. Dear Moss family,
I am saddened to hear of Donna’s passing. It was a pleasure to know her and I always appreciated her empathy for her pets. I am glad to know she lived such a full life.
Peace be with all of you.

  2. Dear Moss/Ingram family,
My wife Dena and I are sorry to hear of Ms. Moss’s passing. I grew up knowing Debbie and Mary Ann as well as several members of the Ingram family. I can remember being treated nicely by Ms. Donna and her faimly. God bless you all.

  3. Mother,

Christmastime was a favorite time of year for you after every great summer and fall. Beautiful decorations matched your beautifulness outside and in. Joyous music was always around every December, especially to a former vocalist. We will miss this time we had planned for this weekend. I was with you and saw you, “moving” as you called it, going to your wonderful Christmas day celebration in heaven. I can imagine it will be a beautiful and joyous day for you today, but with other family and friends and the person who this day was all about. I can imagine a big birthday party. Have a very Merry Christmas!

    She lived…
    and brought
    unto this earth
    a bit of beauty,
    love,
    and faith…

    and now
    her life will ever
    be reflected
    in your heart.

Our family thanks those who continue to respond with comforting words of support and love.

  4. Jeff, Debbie, MaryAnn and family,
