Earl D. Williams

Earl Williams, age 97, of Chandlerville, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 31, 1929 in Greenview, Illinois, the son of Raymond and Lillian (Garner) Williams.

Mourning his passing are his wife, Patricia; sons, Mark (wife Kelly) Williams and Ted (wife Vickie) Williams; grandchildren, Nicholas, Raine, Ashley, Kathryn, Patrick, Erika, Matthew, and Nathan; several great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Bacon; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Earlene Wallace; several siblings, Walter, Raymond, Orville, Ruth, Karl, Dorothy, Lois, Mildred, and Lillian.

Earl was a truck driver for over 40 years based in Michigan, driving from coast to coast of the United States.

He was a member of the American Legion, VFW. and Teamsters.

Earl’s favorite hobby was farming.

He served for the U.S. Army for several years.

Visitation for Earl will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.

Burial will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery near Sweetwater, Illinois.
