Phillip H. Frank II, age 56, of Athens, passed away Sunday June 1, 2008 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Survived by:Wife – Kay

Daughter : Jill ( Jack) Berg of Independence, IA Two Sons : Neil and Bruce Frank both of Athens Parents – Phillip & Mary Catherine Frank of Athens

Two Sisters – Pat Frank (husband Bob Gergen) of Bloomingdale

Linda Connelly of Athens Mother-in-Law : Ann Doyle of LaSalle Numerous brother and sister-in-laws Nieces, Nephews & Cousins

Mr. Frank was born March 29, 1952, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Phillip and Mary Catherine Copp Frank. He married Mary Kay Doyle on September 4, 1976.

Phil was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He graduated from Athens High School in 1970. He received a degree in Agriculture from the University of Illinois in 1974. Phil returned to Athens and was a successful farmer and businessman. Even during his illness, he did what he loved and was working on the farm every day.

Phil was an active member of Holy Family church and served on the board of director for numerous agricultural organization including Culver-Fancy Prairie Coop Elevator, Illini Bio Energy and South American Soy.

Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 309 N. Springfield Road, Athens from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday and where the funeral will be held at on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens is in charge of the arrangements.

Burial will be at Indian Point Cemetery north of Athens.

Memorials can be made to the FFA Memorial Scholarship Fund, Leiomyosarcoma Cancer Foundation or Holy Family Church

  2. I was a classmate of Phil’s at the U of I. We had many classes together. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was one of those people that you never forget, I know I will not.
