Gardner, Kay A.

Kay A. Gardner, age 64, of Springfield, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Springfield.

She is survived by: Two Daughters – Dawn (husband Wendell) Holmes of Riverton – Rita (husband Jerry) Williams of Springfield Companion – Charles B. Gardner Five Grandchildren Three Great-grandchildren She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Alice Crowell, and her sister, Peggy Holman.

Ms. Gardner was born on February 22, 1943 in Beardstown, Illinois.

She attended Niantic Harristown Schools and then later graduated from Capital Area Vocational Center’s nursing program in 1983. She worked as a nurse at several Springfield area nursing homes for most of her life.

She is a member of the Athens Christian Church.

Ms. Gardner’s hobbies included crocheting, sewing, being a foster parent for APL animals, and cooking for family get-togethers.

Services will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home where visitation will be held from 5 until 7:00 PM with a Memorial Service immediately following at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
