Gayle Denton, age 61, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at her home. She is survived by her husband Cecil Denton, one son Andrew Denton of Springfield; mother Evelyn Freeman of Springfield; brothers Mike (Jan) Freeman of Petersburg and Pat (Suz) Freeman of Springfield; nephews Aaron and Josh Freeman; nieces Megan Freeman and Katie Kovac; And a huge list of friends see page 12.

She is preceded in death by her father Fredrick “Ferd” Freeman.

Gayle was born September 8, 1951 in Springfield, the daughter of Fredrick and Evelyn Freeman.

She graduated from Athens High School in 1969 and then married Cecil on March 29 of 1986.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 from 5 : 8 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 10 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.

Rev. Norman Mendell will be officiating.

Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.

  1. Cecil and Andrew, I am so sorry to hear about Gayle. She was a wonderful Christian woman! Gayle will be missed by so many people that she touched in her life. I pray that our Lord Jesus will comfort you and Andrew through the months and years to come, when you are missing your Wife and Mom.
