Gloria York, age 70, of Athens, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by family.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy York of Athens, three children; Lawrence York of Athens, Joann York of Fishers, IN and George (Liz) York of Lee’s Summit, MO; four grandchildren, Charlotte, Jocelyn, Elise and Matthias; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Gloria was born on November 4, 1946, the daughter of George and Lillie Hoffert.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents.
Gloria worked as a cashier at Walmart for 26 years. She loved to read, especially the bible and loved searching on the internet.
Visitation for Gloria will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10 AM at the funeral home.
Elder John Anderson will be officiating.
Memorials can be made to Braden’s Hope for Childhood Cancer.
Burial will be held at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens, IL.
Mott & Henning Funeral Home is assisting the York family.
