Barbara Jones Greening, age 79, of Williamsville passed away August 25, 2008 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Surviving by: Husband : Alfred “Tut” Son : John of Austin, Texas Daughter : Anne Keinz of Wrentham, Massachusetts Three Grandchildren- Kristin Keinz, Grayson and Addison Greening

Barbara was born May 7, 1929 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Thornton P. and Sara Swindell Jones.

She attended Stephens College and received a BS in education from the University of Wyoming.

Barbara was active in Sangamon County Republican Politics as County Chairwoman and a member of the Sangamon County Board of Supervisors. She was a member of the Margaret Garfield Circle of King’s Daughters and the Junior League of Springfield and an avid sports fan.

Visitation will be held at the Mott & Henning Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 AM.
