Margaret “Bootie” Harlan, age 68, of Athens, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She is survived by: Husband – Delmar Two sons – Delmar (wife Judi) of Athens – Jack (wife Judi) of Athens
Three daughters – Peggy Ryan of Cantrall – Cindy (husband Ray) Gimondo of Bath – Bonnie (husband Karl) Yager of Athens
Sister : Ruby Meek 14 Grandchildren 14 Great-grandchildren Several Nieces & Nephews
Ms. Harlan was born July 20, 1940 in Springfield, the daughter of Robert and Ollie Ellenburg Hull.
She is preceded in death by a son Dale and grandson Delmar III.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
Rev. Ken Gennicks officiating.
Burial at Rock Creek Cemetery near Tallula.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss. I was glad to hear that most of you were by her side during those last days. Bootie was a good lady and she always made Jeff and I laugh when she poked fun of Jeff at the checkout line! I know you all will miss her and so will we.

Peggy, I am truely sorry for your loss. I will miss your mom so much at the baylis lab. She and I got along so well. I will never forget the first few times she came in, and then one day instead of calling her back by her name I said “grumpy” come on back, she said are you talking to me and I said your the only grumpy one out there she laughed so hard and from that day forward I would like to think that we became great friends. Stop in my work sometime because I feel that you and I also became friends.
