Harry O. Jackson, Sr., age 83, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Harry was born March, 30, 1935 in Springfield, IL, the son of Harry and Vera (Irwin) Jackson, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Roselee B. Jackson; a son, Harry O. Jackson, Jr.; grandchildren, Joseph M. (wife Toni) Diefenback and Kara (husband Brad) Peterson; great-grandchildren, Courtney Sommer, Miranda Crowder, Braden Denney, Blake Denney, and George Peterson; two sisters, Darlene Hartley and Ruth Peters; several nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Jackson; brothers, David and Johnny Garrison and Willard Jackson.
Harry graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in 1953.
He married Roselee Cole on November 30, 1954.
Harry worked as a mechanic and later for the State of Illinois.
He was a member of the 4-H Club and loved gardening. Harry enjoyed working on cars.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Burial will be held immediately after at Indian Point Cemetery near Athens.
