Robert E. Hawkins, age 87, of Greenview died at Villa Health Care in Sherman on Thursday June 28, 2007.

Survived by: One Son- Doug (wife Judy) Hawkins of Sherman

One Daughter : Verena Somer of Arcadia, CA

Mr. Hawkins was born June 2, 1920 in Bath, Illinois, the son of Othie and Jennie Bittner Hawkins.

Mr. Hawkins married Louise Cramer on July 4, 1942 in Louisiana. She preceded him in death in 1993. He is also preceded in death by two sisters.

He was in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1945 during World War II. Mr. Hawkins was a member of Greenview Masonic Lodge and also a member of the Shriners.He was also member of the Greenview United Church in Greenview, IL.

Mr. Hawkins retired from the Corn Products in Pekin, IL after several years of employment.

Visitation will be held at Mott and Henning Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 P.M.to 7:00 P.M… The funeral service will be held at the Greenview United Church in Greenview on Monday at 11:00 A.M.

Burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview.
