Helen (Henderson) Saffer Kelly, age 104, of North Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Williamsville, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 in Cape Coral, FL.
She was born September 9, 1915 in Logan County, Illinois, the daughter of Floyd and Inez (Horney) Henderson. Her three brothers all preceded her in death; Jim Henderson on January 5, 1996, Wayne Henderson on April 3, 2008, and John Henderson on March 9, 2019.
Helen married John H. Saffer on November 28, 1936, he preceded her in death in 1989. She then married Donald E. Kelly in 1991 in Florida. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Helen is also preceded in death by a son, Larry Allen Saffer on February 9, 1976 and a granddaughter, Rochelle Spears.
She is survived by a grandson, Rodney Saffer of Decatur; step-son, Don W. Kelly; two step-daughters, Judy Martin and Patsy (husband Bill) Hasser; three great-grandchildren, Heather Saffer, Jennifer Foster, and Sean Hawthorne; and four great-great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She graduated Williamsville High School.
Helen owned and operated a dress shop in Williamsville for several years and also worked at Ace Hardware. She also hosted numerous teachers at her home in Williamsville.
She was a life-long member of the Williamsville United Methodist Church and later was actively involved with Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in North Fort Myers, Florida. Helen was a member of the Eastern Star. Helen hosted numerous ham and bean dinners at the mobile park in Florida.
Visitation for Helen will be held from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the Williamsville United Methodist Church, Cindy Lash will be officiating. Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville after the services.

Helen was a wonderful person. She, her husband John, and son Larry opened their home to me when I arrived in Williamsville to begin my teaching career in 1955. I spent two years in their home and was treated as a member of the family. My condolences to family members.
