Helen L. Tobias, age 97, of Petersburg passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.

She was born on May 1, 1925 in Elkhart, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Ruth (Hanslow) Davis.

She married Marcus Tobias on May 29, 1948 in Elkhart, Illinois.

Mourning her passing are two daughters, Janet (husband Richard) Dennis of Petersburg and Patricia (husband Bob) Rolleri of Fayetteville, North Carolina; son, Scott (wife Sara) Tobias of Sherman; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Tobias; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence (wife Mary) Davis of Chanhassen, MN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcus; son, Mark Tobias; brother, Earl Davis; and sisters, Earlene Miller and Mabel Davis.

Helen graduated from Elkhart High School.

She raised four children and worked with her husband, Marcus for over 66 years on their farm near Greenview.

She worked at the hospital in Lincoln as a housekeeper for many years.

Helen was a member of the Elkhart Methodist Church.  She loved crocheting, sewing, and especially cooking for her family.

Private family visitation will be held with graveside services to follow on Thursday, November 17, 2022.  Burial will be held at Irish Grove Cemetery near Middletown.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Elkhart Methodist Church.
