Ida May Sampson, age 92, of Greenview, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital surrounded by her family.

Ida May was born on April 2, 1925 at rural Greenview, IL, the daughter of Howard and Irene (Croft) Allison.

She graduated from Middletown Community High School in 1943 and from St. John’s School of Nursing in 1946. Ida May married Kenneth R. Sampson on November 27, 1947 and they celebrated 70 years of marriage. He survives. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior and taught primary Sunday school for over 25 years.

Ida May is preceded in death by both parents and an infant sister.

She is also survived by her daughter, Marilyn (David) Musick of Normal, IL; a son, Stephen K. (Jeanette) Sampson of Bloomington, IL.; four grandchildren, John (Sarah) Musick, Allison (Sean) Kerr, Denise (Mat) Rayman and Laura (fiancé Onsel) Sampson; four great-grandsons, Isaiah and Jeremiah Kerr, Elijah and Benjamin Musick.

She was an active member in Women’s Fellowship at the Greenview Christian Church.

Visitation for Ida May will be on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Mott and Henning Funeral Home in Athens from 4-7:00 PM. Services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the funeral home at 10:00 AM with a visitation starting at 9:30 AM prior.

Burial will be held at Irish Grove Cemetery.

Minister Andy Nichols will be officiating.

Memorials can be given to Greenview Christian Church.
