Ione Kemmerling

Ione Kemmerling, age 92, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Villa East in Sherman, Illinois.

Ione was born on January 26, 1926 in Hardy, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Grace Amsden Brayton.

She is survived by her two sons, Curt Kemmerling and, Byron Kemmerling both of Springfield, nieces Tammy (Don) Hahn of Zionsville, Indiana and Candis (John) Manion of Springfield and many other nieces and nephews, six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Wesley Brayton; two sister-in-laws, Georgiana Brayton and Ruth Brayton both of Iowa.

Ione is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, a son Dennis and a daughter Susan.

Ione worked as a child care provider in her home for many years.

She was a member of the Cantrall United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.

Rev. Paulette Cott will be officiating.
