James “Bob” Tibbs, Jr., age 59, of Williamsville, lost his courageous 18 month battle with brain cancer at 4:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 29, 1956, in Lincoln, Illinois, to James “Bob” Tibbs, Sr. and JoAnn (Carter) Tibbs. Bob married Kathy Richardson on September 10, 1977 in Springfield, Illinois, and she survives. The “Apple of Bob’s eye” was their daughter, Tiffany.

Mourning his passing are daughter, Tiffany (Brent) Tibbs Bordenkircher; parents, James “Bob” Tibbs, Sr. and JoAnn (Carter) Tibbs; sister, Debbie Strong; grandchildren, Brock and Brynn Bordenkircher; sister-in-law, Marsha Lemasters; niece, Lori (JD) McTaggart; nephew, Tim (Marcy) Lemasters; niece, Meagan (Brandon) Maurer and four great nieces and one great nephew.

Bob was Director of Maintenance for the Williamsville School District. He was known as “Bus Driver Bob” when he drove the bus as a substitute. He has previously worked at Carter’s Nursery in Williamsville.

His interests were gardening, NHRA racing, feeding birds and fishing. The Grandchildren have been taught the joy of watching the birds and fishing by their beloved Papa.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 10, from 4-7 PM at the Williamsville Jr. High School gymnasium. Services will be Monday, July 11, at 10:30 AM at the Williamsville Methodist Church with Rev. Piscatelli officiating. There will be a short visitation from 10:00-10:30 AM prior to the service.

Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.

Memorials can be made to, “Williamsville Fire Department/EMS” or “National Brain Tumor Society.”

We hope knowing Bob is pain free and in peach with God, enjoy seeing so many of our angels such as my father, Augie and good friend Jack can help.

    We are so sorry of Bob’s passing. He was a Super Guy and a Great Supervisor/ Co-Worker, and Friend. He is truly going to me missed by all who knew him.   4. We are so very sorry about Bobby – my parents used to babysit Tiffany quite a bit and loved her so much as well as all the family – Bob and Jo lived across the street from my parents and were so kind and helpful and very special to our family.
