James (Jamesy) Wiseman

James (Jamesy) W. Wiseman, 78, of Beaverdam, VA died on August 27th, 2021, at Bon Secours Community Hospice House near Richmond, VA.

Mr. Wiseman was born October 4th, 1942, to Gilbert E., and Emma Knoles Wiseman, but grew up in, and around Athens, IL. He served in the U.S. Navy September 29, 1960 – October 1st, 1963. During his service he married his first wife, Elizabeth Robinson Wiseman, and moved to her hometown of Washington, D.C. where they had their daughter together. There he started working at Georgetown University Hospital as an Electrician where he later retired. On October 23, 1971, he married Patricia A. Poland, in Herndon, VA. Together they had 3 children and resided in Falls Church, VA for nearly 40 years before retiring to Beaverdam, VA.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Patricia; son, James Eric Wiseman (Michelle) of Parksley, VA; daughter Janet Gaus (Kirk) of McKinney, TX; daughter Sarah Grimm (Shannon) of Purcellville, VA; 6 grandsons, James A. Wiseman, Jacob T. Wiseman, Connor T. Gaus, Alex G. Gaus, Matthew B. Grimm, and Brayden W. Grimm; brother Ronald G. Wiseman (Sue) of Vandalia, IL; 3 sisters, Linda Skiles (Gayle) of Virginia, IL; Susan Ewing of Athens, IL; and Darlene Atterberry (Greg) of Twin Lakes, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, father, stepfather James William Hunt, son Joseph William Wiseman, and his first-born Grandson, Justin Alton Wiseman.

A military memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at Mott Henning Funeral Home in Athens, with visitation starting at 10:00 am.
