James “Jim” Dobson

James “Jim” Dobson, age 83, of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.

Jim was born June 19, 1940 in Springfield, Illinois the son of Thomas and Myrtle (Tate) Dobson.

Mourning his passing are four nephews; one niece; and friend, Emily Schirding.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John; and sister, Rose.

Jim graduated from Athens High School.

He worked as a welder for many years.

Jim loved computers.  He taught himself to use and build computers.

Cremation rites will be arranged.  No services will be held.
