Jimmie Peterman

Jimmie Peterman, age 84, of Williamsville, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He is survived his wife, Irma; five children, Ron (Terri) Peterman, Nancy Emmons, Terry (Lori) Peterman, Bill (Vickie) Peterman and Mike (Lisa) Peterman; sister, Betty; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Jimmie is preceded in death by both parents and three brothers, Tommy, Marky and Benny Peterman.

He was born on December 14, 1932 the son of Mark and Zelma Ramsey – Peterman.

Jimmie married Irma Grafton on October 3, 1952 and have spent 65 wonderful years together.

Jimmie retired from the State Board of Education. He was also a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman. Jimmie loved traveling with Irma, enjoyed playing the fiddle, guitar and singing. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962.

Visitation for Jimmie will be held on May 22, 2017 from 9-10 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman, IL. Funeral service will immediately follow at 10 AM.

Burial with military honors will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Pastor Michael Schuermann will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman.
