John Hagaman

John Hagaman, age 85, of Sherman, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at his home.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; his children; Linda (Gary) Shudrowitz, John (companion Sally) Hagaman, Kris (deceased) (Dennis) Danner, Jackie (Dickie, deceased) Blissett, LuAnn (Tom) Meyer, Denise (Roger) Burton, Tammy (companion Brian) Anderson, Scott (Kathy) Timm, and Jay (Robin) Timm; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl (Anna Mae) Hagaman; a sister, Helen Grimmett; and several nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Donnie.

He was born February 23, 1930 in Carlinville, Illinois the son of John and Gwen Johnson Hagaman.

John married Mary Ann Timm on August 7, 1971 in Charleston, SC by Rev. Runge.

He served for the United States Air Force from 1950 thru 1971 and was stationed in Germany, Korea, Greenland, and finally in Vietnam.  John retired from CVS in 1995 after 15 years of service.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #263 in Lincoln, Illinois.

John graduated from Feitshans High School in Springfield, attended Lincoln Land Community College, and later the United States Air Force NCO Academy.

He and Mary Ann enjoyed traveling abroad to Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Morroco, Gibraltar, Poland, Scotland, and Denmark.  He also enjoyed staying in Branson during the winter time.

Visitation for John will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, IL on September 30, 2015 from 1 PM until funeral service at 3 PM.

Rev. James Stuenkel will be officiating.

Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation at 191 Waukegan Road, Northfield, IL 60093.
