John W. Miller, Jr.

John W. Miller, age 75, of Greenview, passed away on Wednesday November 5, 2014 at St. John’s Hospital.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn, a son Steve (Carol) Miller of Sherman, a daughter Stacy Smith of Maryland; one brother Dan (Leann) Miller of Mason City; grandchildren Joshua Smith, Justin Smith, Terri (Jeff) Stocker, Doug (Gina) Rapp; great-grandchildren Braydon Smith, Abigail, Drew, Timothy, Evan, Lane, Clayton, Chase Stocker, Bryan, Hayley, Tyler Rapp; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant son William.

John was born December 28, 1938 in Athens, IL, the son of John W. and Ruby Adams Miller.

He married Carolyn Dennis on January 23, 1959 in Greenview, IL.

John was a member of the Greenview Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge # ___, where he served as treasurer for several years. He retired from Elm Transit in 2002. John loved working in his garden and sharing his vegetables with his family and friends and spending time with them.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Greenview Christian Church in Greenview, IL.

Rev. Blake Canterbury will be officiating.

Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery near Petersburg.
