Jones, Julia

Julia C. Jones, age 71 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 22, 1942 in Flora, IL, daughter of the late Theron and Julia (Goings) Wolfe.

Julia was an insurance specialist for 38 ¬Ω years with the State of Illinois working for the Department of Central Management Services.

She was a faithful member of Westside Christian Church in Springfield, IL. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She loved to be outside and had a special love for her dog, Knuckles. Julia enjoyed spending time at Walmart, listening to Elvis Presley music and doing things for her family. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart.

She is survived by and will be missed by her husband Robert Sr., whom she married on October 21, 1961, her daughter and son-in-law Sherry (Ron) Furman of Cantrall, IL; her son and daughter-in-law Robert Jr. (Barb) Jones of Granite City, IL.; her grandchildren Cory (Kassie) Furman of Springfield, IL, Keaton (Destini) Furman of Sherman, IL, Abigail “Rosie” Furman of Cantrall, IL, Skylar and Sophie Burns of Granite City, IL; her brother Theron “Toady” (Ellen) Wolfe of Fairfield, IL, and many other extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother LeRoy Wolfe.

In celebration of her life, friends may call on Monday, June 16, 2014, from 9 AM until time of service at 11 AM with Pastor Mike Harney officiating, at Mott and Henning Funeral Home, 206 North Main Street, Athens, IL.

Burial will follow at Indian Point Cemetery, Athens, IL.
