Karl R. Williams, age 89, of Greenview, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center.
Karl is survived by his son Carl (Lana) Williams of Greenview; daughter, Barbara McDaniel of Springfield; brother Earl (Pat) Williams of Chandlerville and sister Mary Bacon of Tallula. He is also survived by several grandchildren, step grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Karl is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; son, John; several brothers and sisters; grandson, John Jr. and step granddaughter, Lisa.
He married Shirley Banister in 1947.
He was born on March 20, 1927 near Greenview the son of Raymond and Lillian Garner Williams.
During Karl’s life he worked as a mechanic at Baugher, Claypool and Stevens Implement Companies and Greenview Schools where he later retired. He was also a grain and livestock farmer in the Greenview area. Karl enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Visitation for Karl will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 10-12 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Karl Williams Family.
Burial will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Sweetwater.
Rev. Roger James will be officiating

Our heart-felt condolences to Uncle Karl’s family. (If this was posted before, sorry, but couldn’t view the postings and not sure it was). One of my favorite uncles, I will always remember Uncle Karl as witty, charming, kind and oh so funny! We shared lots of laughs. He will be missed by so many people, but we retain all the wonderful memories! Rest in Peace, Uncle Karl! We love you! Jeanie, Richie, and Larry
