Lana Forden, age 64, of Springfield, passed away on August 20, 2015, in Ontario, Canada.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin; two children, Vicki (Kirk) Forden Brauer of Wildwood, Missouri & Jon Forden of Springfield; Â two sisters Janice (Ed) Nichols and Peggy Mounce, sister-in-law, Becky Ethell; three grandchildren, Taylor Forden, Lincoln and Owen Brauer; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Daniel Ethell.
Lana was born on October 20, 1950, in Springfield, the daughter of Eldon “Cap†and Aneta Ethell.
Lana married Kevin on October 7, 1972, in Athens.
She worked for the State of Illinois for many years, where she later retired. After retirement, being a Grandma was her full-time job.
Lana graduated in 1968 at Athens High School.
Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, from 4-6 PM with memorial services immediately following at 6:00 PM.
Officiating will be Rev. Paulette Cott.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials can be made to “Be Aware Woman’s Fair†at Memorial Medical Center Foundation or “Alzheimer’s Association†at 2309 W. White Oaks Drive, Suite E Springfield, IL 62704.

Nick, Rhonda & family, So sorry to hear of the loss of Aunt Lana. Hope your fond memories guide you through this difficult time.

Jon, I’m so sorry for this to have happened to your family. God Never intended for us to have to deal with Death, It is only because of Adam and Eve’s sin That we are cursed with it.
