Lawrence R. Wohler

Lawrence Wohler, age 79, of Greenview, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 1, 1946 in Springfield, IL the son of Robert and Doris Simmering – Wohler.

Lawrence married Charlotte Willis on September 4th, 1965 at Greenview Christian Church and recently celebrated their 60th anniversary with family and friends.

Mourning his passing are his wife, Charlotte, son Joe (wife Alicia) Wohler and daughter Amy (Kristy) Wohler; one son in law, Jason Blackburn; five grandchildren, Emma, Tessa and Henry Wohler and Addie & Eli Blackburn; three sisters, Gaileh Tice, Marla (Tom) Entwistle and Rachelle Wohler as well as several beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Suzanne Blackburn.

Lawrence graduated from Greenview High School in 1964.

He was a self employed farmer in the Greenview area for 61 years.

He was also a member of the Greenview Christian Church. Lawrence also served on the National Bank of Petersburg board as well as several other farming related boards.

Visitation for Lawrence will be held on Monday, February 9th, 2026 from 4 PM – 7 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, IL Services will be held on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026 at 10 AM at the Greenview Christian Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Greenview Christian Church or The Historic Marbold Farmstead Association.
