Lola P. Hill, age 96, of Springfield, formerly of Cantrall, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard; children, Linda (Danny) Clymer of Manchester, NH, and L. Kent Hill of Glenarm, IL; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Roy and Charles Eston Landreth; sister, Dorothy Shelly and daughter, Sandra Lankford

Lola was born on August 17, 1920 in Cantrall, Illinois, the daughter of Ezra and Mary Helphenstine Landreth.

She married Leonard Hill on December 24, 1940.

Lola was a homemaker for most of her life. She later retired as an Automobile Customer Representative for Horace Mann Insurance Company after 19 years.

She was a member of the Athens Christian Church for 8 years, Westside Christian Church for 52 years and was a current member of the Rochester Christian Church.

Visitation for Lola will be on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 2 – 5 PM at Rochester Christian Church with services immediately following at 5 PM.

Pastor Brad Ferris and Rev. Ken Gennicks will be officiating.

Lola will be buried at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials can be made to “Restoration House Ministries Incorporated” at 1300 Wellington Rd, Manchester, NH 03104.

  1. So saddened to hear of Lola’s passing. Leonard and Lola were the best neighbors we ever had and were still missed in Cantrall. Think of them often and how tender and loving a couple they were. Deepest condolences to Leonard and all the family.
