Marcus Tobias

Marcus Tobias, age 88 of Greenview, passed away on Tuesday October 21, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Janet (husband Richard) Dennis of Petersburg and Patricia (husband Bob) Rolleri of Fayetteville, North Carolina; son, Scott (wife Sara) Tobias of Sherman; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Tobias; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Delmar Tobias; one sister, Harriett Tobias; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marcus is preceded in death by one son, Mark Tobias; one sister, Shirley Landreth; and his parents, Harry and Flora Tobias.
He was born February 1, 1926 near Fancy Prairie, IL.
Marcus married Helen Davis on May 29, 1948 in Elkhart, Illinois.
He farmed all his life in Menard County in the Greenview area for 63 years.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday October 24, 2014 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home.
Rev. Julie Wells-Blythe will be officiating.
Burial will be held at Irish Grove Cemetery near Middletown.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Very sorry for your loss. Mr. Tobias was certainly one of the nicest men I’ve met.

I am so sorry to hear of your family’s loss. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of y’all and the wonderful summers I had coming out to spend the night with Mark. Marcus will be dearly missed. May God bless you all.
