Richard D. Evers

Richard Evers, age 68, of Williamsville, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Generations at Lincoln in Lincoln, IL.

Richard was the son of Paul and Rosemary Evers. He is survived by one nephew, Adam Evers; one niece, April Pennington; one brother, James Evers; and a cousin, Gail Wise.  He is preceded in death by both parents.

Richard was a 1968 graduate of Williamsville High School, where he was active in 4-H and FFA. He was a member of the Mid-State Kart Club and won numerous go-kart races and tractor pulls in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. He worked on the family farm with his father and brother until 1976. He was a member of the Sangamon County Rescue Squad; in 1976 he was critically injured in a car accident on the way to a rescue call. He resided with his parents until he entered nursing care in 2001.

The family will receive visitors at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens on Thursday, May 31 from 4 PM to 6 PM.
